HOW WE DEVELOP A COMPREHENSIVE PROJECT AT IDM
1. PRODUCT ANALYSIS
IDM, in collaboration with the client, compiles the initial product requirements, purpose, demands, and constraints, to find the most functional, simple, cost-effective, and aesthetically pleasing option.
We also advise/collaborate with product designers, providing our experience and pragmatic vision when combining design and manufacturing through an industrial process that avoids unnecessary costs and unwanted delays.
This preliminary study is essential to providing the correct product concept, one that synthesizes its intended purpose with efficient manufacturing.
We often recall the anecdote (who knows if it's true) about the development in space engineering that was undertaken to create a ballpoint pen that could write in the absence of gravity, when a pencil also served that purpose.
2. MOLD DESIGN
Once the product is defined, IDM designs the entire mold in 3D.
The power of our software streamlines and increases the accuracy of the sequence, allowing us to view, section, activate, and detail any of its constituent elements at any time.
We can practically "feel" the mold before manufacturing, analyzing its operation before our production team begins their work.
True to our practical nature, we usually finalize all the small details of the mold with the foundry, because, as our father said, "every master has his own book," IDM ensures that all its molds are perfectly adapted to each working style.
3. MANUFACTURING
Once the design is complete, the purchasing department is responsible for the procurement of raw materials, always meeting the highest quality standards.
Each element is machined in our technical office, using POWERMILL, one of the best machining software programs, which allows for the most complex machining operations with great precision, quality, and safety.
All of this is supported by a highly trained and committed team that, relying on prestigious, state-of-the-art machines capable of simultaneous 5-axis machining, spectacular finishes, very high precision, and robotics, is able to bring to life in increasingly shorter times what until now was only virtual.
Without forgetting the good work and daily commitment of our tool suppliers, some of whom we share efforts, development, and analysis with, such as MOLDINO and MARENA.
4. VERIFICATION AND MONITORING
Each of our professionals ensures proper finishing at each station, maintaining continuous monitoring of the element throughout its production, which provides traceability and corroborates the success of the process.
After final assembly of the entire assembly and before delivery to the client, we verify that the mold meets all the specifications requested by the client, in addition to those required by IDM quality.
A dispatch of the company's technical staff attends mold tests at the client's facilities to verify its proper functioning on-site and begin the history of this new creation.
